CORA Services Champions for Children Celebration

It was a great evening of camaraderie and special honorees as corporate executives, community members and friends gathered together to celebrate the 38th anniversary of CORA Services and pay tribute to the 2009 Champions for Children on November 24th at the Union League of Philadelphia. The Champions for Children Celebration to benefit CORA Services raised $105,000 to support our comprehensive array of educational, counseling and referral services.

The theme of the event was to give thanks to the people and organizations that enrich the lives of children and families in Philadelphia. Jim Harron, CEO of CORA Services, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the crowd of more than 200 people for attending and supporting an organization that helps children every day.

Each year, CORA Services recognizes individuals for their extraordinary leadership in support of children. CORA Services was pleased to honor Attorney General Tom Corbett as the 2009 Civic Champion for Children, Daniel K. Fitzpatrick, president and CEO for Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware Citizens Bank as the 2009 Corporate Champion for Children, and Rosemary Martin of Cardinal Dougherty High School as the 2009 Classroom Champion. Many thanks to Joe Watkins for serving as emcee of this event and to CORA Services board member Gregg Melinson for serving as chair.
