CORA HELPS KIDS LOVE LEARNING!
Children typically spend grades 1 to 3 learning the alphabet, letter sounds, numbers, and other basic reading and math fundamentals. Once students enter 4th grade, the focus shifts from “learning to read”, to “reading to learn” and without the proper foundational skills, students are often unable to develop on pace and become discouraged.
Seussville at CORA was designed to capture the hearts of children ages 1 to 7, and the attention of caring parents – helping them both to learn to love reading and become more confident learners. Families enjoy celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday by interacting with Seussville characters and CORA staff, winning awesome prizes – including books and take-home activities, and participating in arts and crafts.

CORA runs Peer Helper Programs at 6 local Catholic Elementary Schools. These dedicated 8th graders mentor younger students throughout the school year and give up their lunch periods to participate in reading and math tutoring, as well as other activities with their younger “buddies”. CORA Peer Helpers assisted in facilitating the Seussville games. Each game focused on a book and a skill to encourage the love of learning.
